> ORGAN GALA honoring Rick Grimes, our longtime Organist and Choirmaster who retired in 2018.

Friday, January 25 at 7:30 p.m.  A reception will follow. No admission charge.

Featuring performances by Clive Driskill-Smith, Organist and Choirmaster, and Robert McCormick, Organist at Saint Mark's Episcopal Church in Philadelphia.

On Friday, January 25, we will have a trio of shining stars of the organ world together at All Saints’ Episcopal Church. Two of them will perform -- Organist and Choirmaster Clive Driskill-Smith and concert organist Robert McCormick, Organist and Choirmaster at Saint Mark's Episcopal Church in Philadelphia. And the third is honoree Rick Grimes, who retired as our Organist and Choirmaster from All Saints’.

This special Organ Gala will honor the beautiful music that Rick created for worship during 24 years at All Saints', as both our organist and while leading the All Saints’ Choir...and for many of those years, a handbell choir and a children’s choir.  The Organ Gala has another purpose as well -- to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the organ restoration project begun by organ builder Dan Garland

The Organ Gala will begin at 7:30 p.m., and there is no admission charge. A reception by our Parish Life Commission will follow the recital. We invite and encourage everyone who appreciates Rick’s musical legacy at All Saints’ to join us, and perhaps to further honor Rick on that occasion by making a contribution to The Frederick Grimes Organ Scholarship.

The Frederick Grimes Organ Scholarship

Scholarship Fund established in honor of Rick Grimes

Our longtime Organist and Choirmaster, Rick Grimes, retired from All Saints' on Sept. 9.

In lieu of personal gifts and in consultation with Rick, the Church has established The Frederick Grimes Organ Scholarship.

The Scholarship will support an organist to work under the Organist and Choirmaster as an apprentice and “second pair of hands” to assist in all aspects of the music ministry at All Saints’ Episcopal Church.  This is something Rick has been dreaming of since he started here in 1994.

Please consider making a donation to this Scholarship in honor of and in thanksgiving for the 24 years of ministry Rick has given to our parish.  The funds will be held in the All Saints’ Episcopal Church Endowment Fund with only the income from the invested corpus being used for the Scholarship.  Notice of donors’ names, but not amounts, will be sent to Rick as they are processed. To donate, please make checks payable to All Saints’ Episcopal Church and indicate The Frederick Grimes Organ Scholarship in the notation line.
