Ash Wednesday

Ash Wednesday Services with Imposition of Ashes

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the Season of Lent. In this special liturgy, we will receive the imposition of ashes, smeared in the shape of a cross on our foreheads.

Why ashes?

Throughout Holy Scripture, ashes are a symbol of morality, death, and grief. Whenever you read that someone walks about in "sackcloth and ashes," you know that they are in mourning. On Ash Wednesday, we remember that we are dust and unto dust we shall return.

But it's not all doom and gloom. There is good news for us even on Ash Wednesday. Come and experience this special Liturgy with us on February 22.

Service Times:

A Choral Service at 7:00 p.m. in the All Saints School Chapel or online, featuring the All Saints' Choir.

A Said Service at 12:00 p.m. in the Vida and Francis Staff Chapel at the Gray House.
