Join us this Sunday, April 26, for our guest preacher, The Reverend Jill Walters, Senior Chaplain at All Saints’ Episcopal School.
The Rev. Dr. Jill Walters grew up in Broken Bow, Oklahoma, and graduated from Austin College. She earned her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology at the University of North Texas. She worked as a Licensed Psychologist and a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology for 20 years before entering discernment for Holy Orders.
Mother Jill was ordained as a priest in June 2016 and called to be Associate Rector of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church and School Chaplain at St. Andrew’s Episcopal School in Amarillo. Mother Jill relocated to Fort Worth in January 2020 when she was called as the Senior Chaplain at All Saints’ Episcopal School.
Mother Jill finds her greatest joy in walking alongside young people as they explore their faith. Her chaplaincy is rooted in a developmentally appropriate approach, ensuring that the mysteries of faith are accessible and engaging for students at every stage of their growth. She embraces the Episcopal values of faith and reason, encouraging students to bring both their hearts and their intellectual curiosity to the conversation. Central to her ministry is the commitment to ensure that every student experiences God’s great love and feels cared for and respected regardless of his or her religious affiliation.
Mthr. Jill will preach at both the 9:00 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. services on Sunday, April 26. She will also lead this Sunday’s Adult Forum, “The Art of Episcopal School Chapel: Balancing Development, Community, and Traditions,” at 10:10 a.m. in the Student Union Conference Room.
We hope to see you this Sunday!
