Building Church Update

Dear All Saints' Family,

Thank you for your continued patience and faithfulness through our new building project. I am delighted to have several pieces of good news to share with you today!

On Thursday, after a recommendation by the Urban Forestry department at the city, we received Phase 1 approval for our variance request regarding our landscape plans from the Urban Design Commission. This is the news we've been waiting months for, and it is very exciting! We now move to Phase 2 for approval, which should come very quickly. In order to receive this round of approval, we will be installing protection around the large tree in the front of the building. This protection will be in place by the end of this weekend, and our architects have already scheduled someone from the city to inspect it on Monday. Once approved, the rest of our permits will be released and we'll be ready to start the remaining demolition tasks and construction!

Last week, we received confirmation that The Episcopal Diocese of Texas will purchase the Gray House (4936 Dexter Ave., where most of our staff currently office) for $1.2 million. They will use the building for their new, permanent diocesan offices for the North Region when their lease on South Main expires later next year. In the meantime, they have offered us the opportunity to lease the space back from them until we move into our new offices in the new church. We also found out last week that we will soon be receiving a $1 million grant from the diocese. This, in addition to the funds from the sale of the Gray House, will allow us to pay off an existing line of credit we've held since the purchase of the new building in 2025. That means we'll be moving into our new construction loan without any pre-existing debt, which is truly a gift.

Soon, you will see a flurry of activity in our new location! Three properties we own on the Malvey side of the block will be treated for asbestos removal and demolished in the next weeks. As the project ramps up, please note that while you're welcome to drive by and scope out the work, we will not be allowed to enter the building once demolition and construction start.

Please continue to pray for all those involved in this extensive project, and don't hesitate to reach out to me directly with any questions you have. I give great thanks to God for the steadfastness of our congregation and share in your joyful expectation of the day when we'll be home at last!

With every good blessing,

Mthr. Amanda Kotval
