New Home Update - September 18, 2026

Dear All Saints’ Family,

Thank you for your continued patience, prayers, and generosity as we work through the complex process of moving into our new church home. We remain committed to keeping you informed, and we have several important updates to share.

Building Update

We have received nearly all of the permits necessary to begin construction. The remaining issue involves approval of our landscaping plan by Urban Forestry and the Parks and Recreation Department (PARD).

Our current design requires the removal of two large trees to accommodate the planned sacristy addition. Knowing this could present a challenge, our architects, landscape architects, and All Saints’ team met with Urban Forestry in May to develop an appropriate tree-replacement plan.

However, we recently learned that PARD will not permit 12 of the replacement trees in the areas between the sidewalk and street, as originally planned. We are now considering three options: requesting a variance, relocating those trees to the main lawn, or revising the building design to preserve the existing trees. Each option presents its own challenges, and none is as desirable as our current plan. The Architecture Planning Committee met this week to discuss these options and will update you as soon as we can.

While this is an unexpected hurdle, it is one we are confident we can navigate together.

Financing Update

We are also nearing completion of our financing plan—very good news! The Episcopal Diocese of Texas has been an invaluable partner throughout this process and remains deeply committed to the success of our project.

We expect to soon pay off the existing line of credit from the purchase of the property and establish the new building line of credit that will carry us through construction.

Your faithfulness has made this possible. Capital Campaign giving remains strong and in line with our commitments, and many parishioners have generously paid their pledges ahead of schedule. Thank you. Every gift brings us closer to our new home.

Look How Far We Have Come

It is worth remembering just how much All Saints’ has accomplished. In only a few years, this congregation has emerged from bankruptcy, purchased a new property, raised more than $11 million for our Capital Campaign, assembled an extraordinary team of architects, contractors, attorneys, and artisans, and developed plans for a church home designed to serve All Saints’ and our wider community for generations.

All of this has happened while navigating enormous change: leaving a beloved church home, worshiping in temporary space, joining a new diocese, calling new clergy, welcoming new staff, and building relationships with new school leadership.

There is still work ahead. City approvals, financing, construction, and all the countless details of a project this significant require patience. But we are closer than ever to the moment for which this congregation has worked, sacrificed, and prayed.

As we continue forward, we ask for your prayers and patience. Guard yourselves against discouragement, continue to welcome one another with generosity, and remember how far God has already brought us.

The road has been longer and more complicated than any of us might have wished. But we are moving forward, and we look with great hope toward the day when we will gather together to celebrate in our beautiful new church home.
