As we journey through life we come to thresholds, where we step into something new. Some are welcome, but some are daunting – especially when we fear what is on the other side because we cannot see all that is on the other side. Sometimes we just need to trust God. No matter what we decide, God is with us. Jesus is leading us. The Spirit is inviting and encouraging us. All thresholds, welcomed or not, are opportunities to choose. Will we let pain and fear direct us, or will we trust in God? Trust begins with knowing God. This takes practice, starting with prayer and silence, listening for God’s responses; seeking God in Scripture, in our daily lives; sharing stories of struggle and faith, of “God moments.”
Join us as we invite our Biblical patriarchs and matriarchs into our own crossings. Study will continue this Wednesday, October 9, starting at 6:30 p.m. in the White House, and will run through October 16. A light supper will be served at 6:00 p.m.
